With the continued threat of COVID-19 variants, monkeypox and other emerging infectious-disease risks, IPRO and the Home Care Association of New York State (HCA) are working together under a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-led project to bring critical infection-control education to frontline healthcare staff in New York State. Project Firstline is supported by Health Research Inc. (HRI), the corporation that administers funding to further public health goals of the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and other entities.
Partner with HCA and IPRO on Project Firstline to participate in a foundation level infection control and prevention training. Train, test, and track results, award certificates of completion, and support staff to provide safer care to patients.
We urge your participation in this national effort to reach home care and hospice staff with innovative, engaging and effective training on infection-control basics that can aid in avoiding health risks and save lives. The HCA and IPRO teams look forward to collaborating with you and your staff on this important initiative.
Project Firstline trainings are free and available to all health care workers. Its goal is to provide innovative, engaging, and effective training on infection control protocols directly to frontline healthcare personnel and the public health workforce, building on existing training for home health aides, personal care aides, and other direct caregivers, along with a special emphasis on training frontline staff who are not required to complete mandatory infection control training for re-licensure.

Participation is limited to NYS Medicare Certified Home Health agencies (CHHAs), NYS Licensed Home Care Service Agencies (LHCSAs) and NYS Hospice providers. To register for participation please complete the following steps:
Step 1. Register to participate & designate a training liaison for your organization.
Step 2. Go to the Project Firstline Infection Control Learning Management System, register and complete the free training modules.
